With Spring comes Digital Communication....

After nearly a year at Cheney Farms internet is not only our latest gadget but now add an iphone to the mix.  The internet was a big step because (1) I am not terribly interested in 'logging in' while I am specifically at a place to 'log off' (2) I have been accused of being frugal, although the most expensive plan in our rural area is $15.00/month (3) the internet and I have a tumultuous relationship and (4) I was worried that I would be forced to re-wire the entire home to get the internet; I was half wrong. The iphone on the other hand was just plain rationalizing.  After exhausting all avenues for a used flip phone, my standard-issue communication device, I was forced to make the big decision to move to the evil computer phone.  Now the question remains will I be able to resist temptation to pull it out of my pocket at dinner, in line at the grocery store, when bored but surrounded by friends, while on a road trip, camping, skiing, the list goes on and on. What I do know about this fancy gadget is that I can listen to NPR while pulling weeds, it connects to my outside tunes, and it receives telephone calls just in case my mom calls, but most importantly it takes pretty rad photos with or without the hipstamatic. This is were the rubber meets the road for the Farm.  As opposed packaging up the old Nikon I can now pop off a few shots with the computer phone and I am back to work with out missing a stride and I hate to say it but the quality is about as good as my D70. Yes this is 100% rationalizing but loosing 5 phones in a year and 5 sets of numbers... something has got to give and it was time for me to up the ante....
