Public Transportation, Civil Rights, and Pole Beans

“you must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right. ”

-Rosa Parks-

One of the requirements when purchasing the farm was to have access to public transportation and/or a bike path to Spokane. When I found Cheney Farms, on Craigslist no less, I was pleased to discover that it was directly on a bus line and close to the Fish Lake trail. On a recent sojourn on the ol' STA bus to my house I noticed this powerful sign.

Although the Farms' only civil rights function is being 'inclusive not exclusive' I found this poster depicts an excellent credo.  "One person can make a difference."  If it is introducing someone to welding, making nocino, curing meat, or choosing to live more sustainably, I believe one person does have the power to make change.  Thus when I saw this sign on the bus I wanted to figure a way of including it on the site.

Now I need one person, or more,  to make a difference in my life and show me how to pickle pole beans.  There are bags of them awaiting a water bath...
